Food security

The company donated 8 tonnes of maize flour through the MPs for Gatanga, Maragwa, Senator Muranga County and Muranga woman representative. In addition, a total 185 household from Kinyangi, Kabatini and Gachagi have received each 10kgs of maize flour.

We also donated 1,000kgs of maize flour, 780kgs of avocado and six stacks of firewood to Macheo children’s home. The institution is hosting children rescued from the streets and from abusive backgrounds. This was part of an ongoing exercise with a donation of 60Kgs of avocados per week.

The company also donated 11.5 tons of maize flour to the communities in Mangoto, Kangangu, Kakuzi Hills, Gathungururu, and Kenol. The exercise was done in conjunction with the local administration. A total 1,150 household were reached each receiving 10kgs of maize flour.

Community Roads and Bridges

Kakuzi is facilitating this through provision and maintaining community roads within its property. The company is also constructing two community bridges connecting Thangira - Athara and Gathungururu – Athara communities. The two bridges will facilitate movement to and from Athara primary school as well as markets in the area. Kakuzi is also repairing bulls road.
