Kakuzi has one tea estate, Kaboswa, having recently sold off Siret estate and factory. The Tea estate is situated in Nandi Hills, located 330 Km north west of Nairobi, Kenya, on the equator, west of the Great Rift Valley.  The equitable climate, between 1000 to 2000 meters above sea level, ensures that tea can be picked all year round. Nandi enjoys two wet seasons; the short rains during October and November and the long rains, beginning at the end of March through to early June. These rains keep the moisture in the ground for much of the year and the teas produced are of excellent quality, bright and golden with outstanding flavour.

Teas from Kaboswa are processed at one of the managing agent’s factories and  are transported by road to Mombasa from where there are good shipping connections to world-wide destinations.

Producing products of consistent high quality is fundamental to what we do at Kakuzi. Not only does this reflect market demand but also our values as a company. Quality has been achieved over the years by retaining good people in the business who have applied sustainable production and harvesting techniques, ensuring workers are well treated and long-term capital investment.
