Amongst 900 hectares of macadamia orchard in the Kakuzi hills sits the brand new state of the art macadamia cracking facility.
The plans to build the new macadamia cracking facility were drawn up in December 2014 and after a lot hard work by the team at Kakuzi the first nut in shell for export was cracked on 25th July 2016 . In October 2016 the macadamia cracking facility was officially opened by Camellia’s group chairman Malcolm Perkins. All the people who made this project a reality were present. The day was marked by words of congratulations by Camellia and Kakuzi’s leadership, a tour of the new cracking facility and a celebratory dinner in the evening.
