Kakuzi PLC is seeking a Divisional Manager – Horticulture to lead avocado production operations and play a key role in delivering world-class quality, productivity and operational performance. This is an exciting opportunity for a results-driven professional to make a significant impact within one of Kenya's leading agribusinesses.
The Role
Reporting to the General Manager – Horticulture, you will provide operational leadership for the Horticulture West Division, ensuring the efficient utilisation of people, equipment and resources to achieve production, quality and financial targets while meeting market requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage avocado production and estate operations to achieve productivity, quality and financial targets.
- Plan, coordinate and monitor field activities, resource utilisation, maintenance programmes, budgets and capital expenditure.
- Supervise and manage employee performance, training, communication, discipline and labour welfare initiatives.
- Oversee estate infrastructure, labour housing, environmental programmes and compliance with audit, governance, health and safety requirements.
- Prepare operational reports, safeguard company assets and drive continuous operational improvement across the division.
Qualifications, Attributes and Experience
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture or related discipline
- At least five years' practical experience in field husbandry practices. Experience in commercial orchard management will be an added advantage.
- A minimum of two years' experience in an Assistant Manager position or equivalent.
- Experience in budget preparation, expenditure control and financial management.
- Strong leadership, planning, analytical and people management skills.
- A hands-on approach to operational management and a commitment to achieving exceptional results.
