Kakuzi Plc is renovating Kakuzi primary school (a public primary school within its property). This is after the public health, public works and the ministry of education’s inspections that indicated that the school was not safe without the repairs.

We have been working to increase the number of female security guards and the number of female lead guards. This has seen the recruitment of about 200 new female guards and the promotion of 12 female guards to lead guards.

Over the last year, Kakuzi has been assisting schools to help them meet the required guidelines set by the Ministry of Health to prevent the spread of Covid-19. This has seen 35 schools receive furniture, re-usable face masks, water harvesting tanks, the building of ablution blocks and hand washing tanks. The second phase of this program will involve 31 schools.

To enhance the security of these children, Kakuzi employed safety marshals who walk with the students to and from school. The program began with 6 women and is intended to roll out to a total number of 30 safety marshals.

It was announced today in London that claims concerning allegations against Camellia PLC, in relation to Kakuzi PLC operations, have been resolved. As reported previously Kakuzi was dropped as a party to the UK proceedings in July 2020. Kakuzi still does not know the identities of the claimants making it very difficult to hold any individual accountable. The Board of Kakuzi Plc is pleased to announce that Nicholas Ng'ang'a has been appointed Chairman of the Board with immediate effect. He takes over from Graham Mclean who steps down from the role but will remain a non-executive Director. Dr John Kibunga Kimani has been appointed to the Board of Kakuzi Plc as a non-executive Director with effect from 1 November 2020.
